Our Miaoli Project is the first privately invested commercial wind farm in Taiwan. The Projects reached Financial closing under an innovative German ECA coverage scheme. It represents the first project finance deal in wind power with HERMES coverage and it is the first time that HERMES guarantees local currency debt. This project is also the first IPP in Taiwan receiving a foreign loan.
The Project received Euromoney’s award as “Project Finance of the Year” Renewable Asia-Pacific.
The Project started construction in early March 2005 and commercial operation started in March 2006. This is a showcase for the wind power development in Taiwan and InfraVest’s contribution.
